The European Court of Human Rights, based in Strasbourg, France, held a Grand Chamber hearing in the case El-Masri v. "The former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia" on May 16, 2012.

This represents the first case to come before the court against a European nation for complicity in the CIA's "extraordinary rendition" program.
